Slightly Flawed White Crackle Raku Vase: One

This piece has a slight flaw. Please read the whole description. 

While all crackle white raku pieces have variation across the surface, this piece has something slightly more akin to a crack in the bottom. None of the crackle white pieces are guaranteed to hold water anyway, so this probably doesn’t really make a difference, but I wanted to flag it up. I have tried to photograph the ‘flaw’ (see picture of the base), but it is so slight that it was difficult to capture (which probably indicates how minimal it is).

This handmade pieces has been wheel thrown and raku fired. This ancient process for finishing ceramics dates back millennia. Raku is notable for its amazingly varied surfaces.

Please note, each side of a raku piece is different. These wonderful variations are intrinsic to this firing method. No two pieces will ever be exactly alike.
